Make or break ?...
Well, probably not so drastic, but this conference is much valuable, irrespective of its sponsor's intentions. Indeed, at this critical point, the age-old game of pretending that jews around the world had no say about israeli policies is over, as the conference publicly aims precisely at fine-tuning positions of the jewish communities as a whole.

If for nothing else, at least on this issue this conference already has a strong political value.
And one hopes that jewish representatives, from the US but particularly from Europe, make a clear statement. After all, Israel was born from the european ideological pool of 150 years ago. And, caught in the middle of a deep change in moral values, the entire project should have been carefully revised in recent decades. It wasn't, and as result Israel became the much dubious achievement one can see today, and which is only destined to worsen very quickly.
Not a light responsibility in front of History, it must be admitted, but paternity cannot ( or shouldn't, at least ) be denied. So let's see what comes out of this conference, if jews from around the world choose to abandon the smoke screens in favor of moral clarity or if, instead, they choose to play around for some more time.
